Society of Ohio Archivists Guidelines for Poster Sessions

GENERAL INFORMATION

Poster sessions provide students and archivists new to the field an opportunity to present research or field experiences at the Society of Ohio Archivists 2009 Annual Meeting. The session is informal, with conference participants visiting poster session stations during the conference's reception. Poster session participants should be available to discuss their projects, but do not need to prepare a formal oral presentation. Groups of up to four students may present a poster session. The proposal deadline is Monday, March 2, 2008.

FORMAT

Posters can be any size and either single or tri-fold format. The title and main topics should be easily readable at a distance of four feet. Details can be in a smaller lettering. Visuals aids such as charts, images, or timelines will increase interest and are highly encouraged. Presenters can specify table, easel, or both for their poster session. Please note that electrical outlets will not be available. Presenters are encouraged to bring handouts, business cards, and/or sign-up sheets for participants to request more information.

PUBLICATION

Poster sessions will be listed in the conference program and on the conference website.
